Don't expect to get any help from them nor Amazon. I would have agreed with the other reviewers the day that I bought these tools, but no longer. DeWalt advertises that you should be able to get 2000 charges out of these batteries. .And we wonder why American companies are failing
Black&Decker has ruined DeWalt. I will no longer buy their products along with their other affiliations Porter Cable and Delta. I've been a devoted customer of theirs for 20 years and now they leave me dead in the water. Both good sets and I got what I expected out of them.
This is flawed technology. I have bought many DeWalt products over the years; I had the 14.4v tools set and the 18v tool set. I have two DeWalt 36v batteries and after two years of mild use they will no longer take a charge. They have washed their hands clean of this product.
DeWalt was given a court order to cease production of their 36v products and they no longer support them. I got at the most 50. I'm now stuck with 800 dollars worth of useless tools.
My wife made me put up a little 10 by 12 porch and I flew right through it, no cords to hook up and switch out from extensions. I got this for a birthday present andI used this the day I got it. I get my projects done faster and I get a little fishing in at the end of the day.shhh don't tell my wife. I recommend this to everyone I know. On a full charge I cut studs for 3 rooms in a project I am working on and I never ran out of juice. I love the full size blade on the circular saw.
When it is working it does a great job. I wish Hitachi madea 7 1/4 saw but they don,t so I bought the Dewalt. Looked brand new except the drill looked used.
I also own a Hitachi 18v Lithium Ion Drill/hamerdrill that I would highly reccomend. The saw and battery charger are great. Lighter, fits better in the hand and very smooth operating.
I bought a refurbished kit. The clutch also sticks once in a while. The charger is quiet while Hitachi's charger fan is loud enough that you don't want it in the same room.
It sometimes gets stuck in position 3 of the drill speed. However it is bulky, heavy and not all that impressive.
If having all the tools in one case is valuable (take a photo of the open case before first unpacking it--sure helps in getting the stuff back in), and the excellent trim saw and recip' saw are important, ok, go ahead and buy it, otherwise go elsewhere. At this price (certainly new and even the much cheaper reconditioned one) you expect the best. Well it is only very good and the drill--for most of us the most utilized tool--is disappointing: Heavy, uncomfortable in extended use, and no more torque than top-rated 18 volt drills.
I still use it though because it's got so much power as well as the other tools. Poor clutch engineering on the drill. Great tools, but keep that drill off of "hammer-drill" mode. I've owned this set for over a year now and originally was planning on using it as my primary power tool set for electrical work. I do a lot of heavy hammer-drilling and have had 4 different clutches lock up into "hammer-drill mode" (each within 2 weeks).
